From Monday 19 July 2021, restrictions on on-licensed premises in England have been lifted.
Pubs & Restaurants
- Capacity limits have been removed;
- The rule of 6 or 2 households has been lifted;
- Table service only has been removed;
- Social distancing guidelines have been removed;
- Face coverings are no longer mandatory but still recommended in enclosed, crowded spaces;
- There is no legal requirement for customers to check in to a premises using the NHS Covid app, although they can do so if they wish and premises can take information for track and trace purposes if they wish, although this no longer mandatory.
Events & Music Venues
- Nightclubs can re-open;
- Communal singing is permitted;
- There are no limits on permitted numbers at concerts, theatres or sporting events;
- There is no legal requirement for customers to check in to a premises using the NHS Covid app, although they can do so if they wish and premises can take information for track and trace purposes if they wish, although this no longer mandatory;
- You should consider the use of the NHS COVID Pass, a customer can obtain a pass through the NHS App, the NHS Website or as a letter requested by ringing NHS 119. It is not mandatory to use the NHS COVID Pass but it’s use may help reduce transmission rates. If you do use NHS COVID Pass you must ensure you comply with all legal obligations and guidance published by the Government.
Remember, Covid-19 is still spreading so measures such as hand sanitising should still be encouraged not only for customers’ safety but for the safety of your staff.
