We held our Autumn Military Conference virtually this year, and it was hosted by Simon Ellis, Partner and Head of the Military Team. The conference was aimed at military support groups and charities, and the focus was on the current issues affecting Veterans and Armed Forces Personnel.
The conference started with our key-note speaker, Johnny Mercer MP, who is a Member of Parliament for Plymouth, Veterans’ Minister, Afghanistan Veteran, and best-selling author.
We were also joined by Fergus Williams, CEO of Walking With The Wounded, who told us more about the charity and how they are helping injured former British armed forces personnel transition to civilian life.
After this we had Scott Johnson, who is the founder of of Veteran Owned UK. This is the UK’s largest online business directory for the public to find a business owned by a serving member of the Armed Forces, a Veteran or a Spouse of either backgrounds.
To finish the conference, we were joined by former Colour Sergeant Brian Wood MC. At 23, Brian was thrust into the front line in Iraq, in the infamous Battle of Danny Boy. Brian explains his struggle with PTSD & re-integrating into family life.
Our attendees were also given the opportunity to ask questions in a live Q&A after each speaker.
