Lucy is a partner in the asbestos litigation group and leads the team in Wales.  Lucy has extensive experience working on complex asbestos-related disease claims and regularly secures large compensation awards for her clients.  Lucy is described by Legal 500 as having ‘excellent knowledge’ and as ‘determined and capable’.

Lucy has extensive experience of assisting those suffering with mesothelioma who worked in heavy industry in Wales to include in power stations and steel works.  Additionally, Lucy has acted for many mesothelioma sufferers who previously worked in the education and healthcare sectors who suffered ‘low level’ asbestos exposure and went on to develop mesothelioma. Testament to Lucy’s national reputation within the field is her position on the advisory board of the Mesothelioma UK Research Centre which undertakes high quality patient experience research on mesothelioma.

Lucy has dedicated her career to assisting those suffering with illnesses and diseases which developed in the workplace.

Lucy’s recent successes in asbestos claims include:

• Settlement of a mesothelioma claim for a young claimant in his 30s for £750,000 plus an indemnity in respect of future treatment.
• Settlement of a mesothelioma claim for an engineer which included provision for private medical treatment. Damages to date total in excess of £700,000.

Lucy became a partner at Hugh James in 2019 having trained with the firm.  Lucy qualified as a solicitor in 2010.
