Hugh James advises on builder merchant acquisition

Hugh James is pleased to have advised Robert Price Builders’ Merchants on its recent acquisition.

Robert Price, which is headquartered in Abergavenny with branches across South Wales and Herefordshire, has acquired the assets of Terry Howell Timber & Builder Merchants; a family business with sites in Newport and Pontypool.

Leading partner advising on the deal, and head of our Corporate Commercial team, Gerallt Jones said:

“We’re delighted to support our long-standing client Robert Price on the latest of a series of acquisitions.  It’s exciting to be part of its growth story with the addition of two new sites; further strengthening its presence across the South Wales area.”

On completion of the deal, Will Godfrey, Managing Director at Robert Price said:

“I’d like to thank the Hugh James team for their efforts in closing this deal.  They worked tirelessly to ensure the success of this acquisition and I’m grateful for their commitment and continued support.”

In the short term, branches will continue to trade as Terry Howell as work takes place to ensure a smooth and efficient integration into the Robert Price Group.
