Hugh James has advised builders’ merchant Robert Price & Sons on its acquisition of Gower Timber. A team led by partner Gerallt Jones advised the firm’s long-standing client on the transaction.
Gerallt Jones said:
“Our relationship with Robert Price goes back over many years and we are delighted to have supported them on this exciting expansion into the west Wales market. We’re looking forward to seeing the company continue to go from strength to strength and wish them well on this new venture.”
Gower Timber, a timber merchant based in Penclawdd, will continue to trade as a separate business under the Gower Timber banner and becomes the 22nd branch in the Robert Price group.
William Godfrey, director of Robert Price & Sons, said:
“Gerallt and his team were a great help, guiding us through the legalities, understanding our priorities and smoothing the process through to a successful completion. We would highly recommend Hugh James in this regard.
“Now part of the Robert Price Group, we have exciting plans for the further development of Gower Timber. Working closely with our existing mill at Taff’s Well, Gower Timber will enhance and extend our current timber specialisation, simultaneously improving branch coverage in the western reaches of our network. We will also be enhancing the builders’ merchant element of the business, working closely with our existing branch at Somerset Place, in Swansea city centre.”
