The Hugh James Healthcare sector team has completed on the recent sale of Brookes Pharmacy – an independent community pharmacy based in Cardiff.
This transaction is the latest completion for the team which has advised on a number of transaction recently including the sale of the 34-branch Sheppards Pharmacy Group last month. The landmark transaction saw the biggest independent pharmacy group in Wales being acquired by Avicenna Retail Ltd.
Brookes Pharmacy owner, Alan Brookes commented:
“I was a little apprehensive using a solicitor company I was not familiar with, however, they came highly recommended for having extensive knowledge and experience in the Pharmacy sale market. This turned out to be very true my journey from start to finish with Greg and his associate James was an absolute pleasure. I was extremely surprised how much work was involved, Greg’s communication to myself and other parties was excellent keeping me informed of all the processes and legal issues being addressed along the way. Greg’s manner and commitment was a major influence on bringing the sale to a satisfactory conclusion.
I highly recommend the Hugh James legal team to anybody selling a Pharmacy.”
Partner Greg Williams, and his team of specialist solicitors, are currently supporting a number of other healthcare clients on some exciting transactions in the sector. Greg commented:
“Despite the obvious challenges faced by the sector over the past 12 months, there is a continued interest in acquisitions, with a mixture of first-time buyers, existing operators and larger multiples all having acquired or registering interest in acquiring well-operated pharmacies.”
