We are proud to announce that we have joined forces with South Wales Football Association to sponsor the South Wales FA Senior Cup, one of the longest running Cup competitions in South Wales, and all South Wales FA Cups for the 2023/2024 season.
Marking a significant milestone for both parties, we’ll be taking on title-sponsorship for Senior Cup as well as the full spectrum of men’s, women’s, boys,’ and girls’ football competitions in the region. The partnership aligns with our long-standing tradition of supporting sport in Wales and reflects a shared commitment to diversity and inclusion and promoting sport for all.
Steeped in history, the Senior Cup has been at the heart of the club game across the length and breadth of South Wales since 1894. We will take on the title sponsorship for the upcoming season, following our acquisition of Loosemores Solicitors (sponsors since 2019).
The Hugh James Senior Cup brings with it an unprecedented surge in interest for the new season, with a record-breaking 128 teams taking part. Following the highly anticipated draw earlier today, Round 1 of the Men’s Cup will kick off on Saturday 9 September 2023.
Supporting the continued success of the game at all levels, we will sponsor the Women’s Senior Cup, Sunday Intermediate Cup (Danny Gomes Memorial Cup), the Girls’ U14’s & 15’s Cup, the Boys’ Cup U14’s, 15’s & 16’s, with matches from late September.
Director of Business Development and Marketing at Hugh James, Joe Purcell commented:
“We are pleased to be associated with the South Wales FA Senior Cup and only too happy to extend our partnership across the entire community club game in the region, inclusive of all the boys, girls, men, and women who embody a passion and talent for the sport.
“As a firm deeply rooted in the community, we recognise the importance of supporting initiatives that bring people together and promote wellbeing. This partnership aligns with the vast amount of work we do for our sport sector clients and is a testament to our commitment to promoting the benefits of sport for all.”
Geoff Buckingham, General Secretary of the South Wales Football Association, commented:
“We are incredibly pleased to be partnering with Hugh James for the sponsorship of all SWFA Cups. The South Wales FA Senior Cup is one of the oldest competitions in South Wales with the first final being played back in 1894. This deal with a firm who also has a long history in South Wales is a fitting link-up to take our cup competitions through to the future. “On behalf of the Association, I would like to thank Mark Loosemore for his sponsorship of our Senior Cup since 2019 and wish him and his colleagues best wishes after joining Hugh James family, we look forward to forming the same relationship with Hugh James.”
