Global Asbestos Awareness Week is run each year in April with a view to increasing awareness of asbestos and preventing future exposure worldwide by bringing together victims of asbestos related disease to share their stories to raise awareness. The legacy of asbestos continues to kill nearly 250,000 people globally each year including in excess of 2,500 in the UK.
