Veterans Awards 2021: Celebrating those who have gone ‘above and beyond’ in our communities

The Veterans Awards 2020/2021 were brought to a close in Edinburgh this week. Over the past six weeks, our military team have dusted off the cobwebs, dressed up and celebrated the success of the Welsh, English and Scottish Veterans Awards.

The awards focus on the positive impact veterans have on our communities. It celebrates the achievements and contributions that veterans have on businesses, fitness, sports and the wider community. It also recognises the inspirational veteran volunteers and all that they do.

I have thoroughly enjoyed my involvement with the awards over the past three years. It has been an honour to sit on the judging panel and learn about the inspiring work that is being done by veterans. Without these awards, many of the nominees may not receive the recognition that they truly deserve.

Simon Ellis is a Partner with Hugh James and has worked with the firm for more than 25 years, having trained and qualified here.
