The specialist asbestos claims team at Hugh James have been instructed to pursue a civil compensation claim on behalf of the family of Sandra Morley, from Shepherd’s Bush in London.
Sandra Morley died from the asbestos-related condition, mesothelioma, in February 2020. Sandra’s disease was aggressive and she died very shortly after her diagnosis, leaving her family struggling for answers as to how she came into contact with the deadly dust.
Sandra did however live throughout her adult life at Flat 2 Charnock House, within the London Borough of Hammersmith & Fulham. Documents obtained from the Borough confirm that asbestos materials were present within the flat. Sandra’s daughter recalls some significant refurbishment works having taken place there in 1996, and we believe that the asbestos materials within the flat may have been disturbed at the time.
Sandra Morley’s family are now looking for any former tenants who remember the 1996 refurbishment works, or for anyone who recalls having worked at the flats during the refurbishment project, and who could help shed light upon what went on at the time.
